Building Typologies for Urban Design
Translating a “community’s vision plan” into an urban design plan requires research, analysis and design of multiple building types and their placement into underutilized lots and blocks. Building types are conceptualized in order to comprehend their scale, character, placement, function and aesthetics in the streetscape. These building are inset with various computer programs. We study each type to understand the specific characteristics and program of how the building functions.
The first set of prototype images are more urban in scale and form, applying to the T6 (Urban Center) or T5 [Urban Core]
The second set is a lower scale three story mixed-use and totally residential with under building parking used in a small scale downtown.
